Intro to Hockey

Intended for first time skaters and hockey players who would like to try hockey for a minimal investment. It is offered near the beginning of the hockey season typically around October or November, with additional sessions throughout the year depending on interest and demand. The first session is typically before the normal hockey season so that skaters can experience a short season at a very low cost before committing to a longer season. Sessions typically go for six practices, with the current program having two practices per week (Tuesday night 5:30 – 6:30 and Saturday mornings 10:20 – 11:50) The cost is currently $40 per session. There are no other commitments in terms of volunteer hours or mandatory fundraisers. Players need skates and stick (some may be available to borrow), all other equipment is provided by the club. The focus is on developing skating skills. Practices are typically focused on multiple stations of skill development. It is the recommended starting point for any new skater under the age of 7.
