Weekly Communication - May 29, 2025
Dear JYH Families,
As we look ahead to the 2025–2026 season and prepare for our exciting move into the Woodman’s Sports & Convention Center (WSCC), we want to share some important updates about the future of the Janesville Youth Hockey Club.
With this transition, our organization is evolving to better support the growth and development of our players, families, and programs. Operationally, the club will be implementing a new volunteer policy and committee structure designed to align with our strategic goals and provide more opportunities for member engagement.
To help lead this effort, we are seeking volunteers to serve on several standing committees. These committees will play a vital role in supporting key areas such as communication, events, sponsorships, equipment, tournaments, and more.
The following committees are currently seeking volunteers:
- Marketing & Communications Committee
- Promotes the mission and activities of JYH through branding, public relations, social media, website content, and community outreach.

- Fundraising & Events Committee
- Plans and executes fundraising efforts and events that support the financial health of JYH and foster community spirit.
- Contact: Katie Kletzien – fundraising@janesvilleyouthhockey.com
- Sponsorship Committee
- Builds relationships with local businesses and organizations to secure sponsorships and donations that support tournaments, events, and seasonal needs.
- Contact: Kiefer Sullivan – sponsorships@janesvilleyouthhockey.com
- Equipment Committee
- Manages the inventory, distribution, and collection of association-owned equipment to ensure safety and organization throughout the season.
- Contact: Ryan Romeo – equipment@janesvilleyouthhockey.com
- Tournaments Committee
- Coordinates the planning and operation of home tournaments, including scheduling, registration, volunteers, and promotion.

- Recruitment & Retention Committee
- Focuses on growing player participation and maintaining engagement by welcoming new families, hosting events, and building community connections.

Additional information about our updated volunteer policy will be shared in the coming months. In the meantime, if you’re interested in serving on one of these committees, we encourage you to reach out to the corresponding board member responsible for that area. More detailed committee descriptions are included in the attachment for your review.
We are incredibly excited about the future of JYH and the new opportunities the WSCC will provide. Your involvement is key to our success, and we are grateful for the continued passion and support of our hockey families.
