Fury Hockey
The Rock County Fury is a co-op girls high school hockey program through the Beloit School District. For many years and still today, this has been a great partnership for the district, the program, and the many players who have skated for the Fury. The program is at a pivotal time with the Woodman’s Center being completed next year. If the Rock County Fury continues to be part of the Beloit School District, the team will not have the opportunity to call the Woodman’s Center home.
The Beloit School District has agreed to release the co-op to the Janesville School District for the 2025-2026 season, and the Janesville School Board will be making a decision whether to accept the co-op at their meeting on December 10 at 6 p.m.
This move is not only an opportunity to provide our regional athletes with access to world-class amenities but also to create an enhanced environment for training, competition, and community engagement. The new facility offers the kind of resources and infrastructure that will help foster the development of our players while promoting the growth of hockey in our region.
We believe this transition will serve the best interests of the team, the participating schools, and the broader hockey community. Your support in this process is critical to ensuring a seamless transition that prioritizes the needs of our student-athletes.
The Rock County Fury is asking the Janesville Youth Hockey Club to show their support for this change by attending the school board meeting or by sending an email to the school board members.
Action Items to Consider:
- Send an email to the board: sdj-board@janesville.k12.wi.us
- Attend the Board meeting: December 10, 6 p.m., at the Educational Services Center, 527 S. Franklin Street in Janesville, Wisconsin
