Player Development Model
Janesville Youth Hockey's approach to player development is built on two simple principles: Fun and Fundamentals.
We believe that fostering a child's love for the game creates the foundation for lifelong participation in hockey while helping develop confident, respectful, and responsible individuals both on and off the ice.
As a member of USA Hockey and the Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association (WAHA), JYH provides a tiered development model that encourages players to compete alongside teammates and opponents with similar skill levels, abilities, and commitment. This approach creates an environment where every player has the opportunity to grow, experience success, and enjoy the game.
Our development philosophy emphasizes skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, self-confidence, and personal achievement in a positive atmosphere centered on fun, fair play, and continuous improvement.
