Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does my player need to know how to skate or play hockey in order to participate in SNL?

A: Yes, for your player's enjoyment, all players must have played in some organized hockey. Girls and 6U/8U players are welcome to compete with minimal organized hockey experience.

Q. Do I need equipment to play SNL?

A. Yes, all players are required to have their own equipment and it must be USA Hockey sanctioned gear. Some girls and 6U/8U players may be eligible to rent JYH gear. Arrangements for gear must be made with the equipment committee at equipment@janesvilleyouthhockey.com

Q. Can I pay per session?

A. No, you need to fully register with JYH for SNL and have a valid USA Hockey number.

Q. Can I help on the bench or in the scoring box during the scrimmages?

A. Yes, we are always looking for help. Please check with the age level coach/organizer about helping.

Q. Can I go out on the ice for 6U/8U SNL?

A. Maybe. All coaches will need to have a valid USA Hockey number, SafeSport certified, and have passed a background screening. Please check with the age level coach/organizer if interested in helping on the ice.

Q. If I have any questions about SNL, who do I contact?

A. Please contact JYH HDD Justin Wiskie at hdd@janesvilleyouthhockey.com or reach out to the age level coach/organizer. The age level coach/organizer will be identified as a coach on the crossbar team page for the team your player(s) are signed up for.
